  • Shelby, Mother

I can’t say enough good things about Katie and the Self Esteem course. My daughter and I learned so much about positive self talk and how to handle conflict with others. My daughter was so nervous about Volleyball try outs and almost backed out of it because she didn’t believe in herself but we practiced the self affirmation every morning and night and I saw her confidence grow so much. She crushed tryouts and made the team and kept saying how proud she is of herself

  • Ashley, Mother

He (son) is neurodiverse and attended a behavior intervention preschool. We have read parenting books, taken parenting classes, attended therapy with him, and tried our best to learn how we can help him. One thing I have observed is that there is so much information available, and it can be overwhelming to digest and process. I also have noticed that tangible tools to help kids learn skills are hard to find.

We have found the self esteem course to be a wonderful resource. It is well thought out and comprehensive. The video modules are comfortable to watch and Katie makes you feel like you’re in her office with her. The workbook is full of age appropriate resources and tools that are playful and presented in an aesthetic and design style that is fun for kids. We don’t have to read a book, or research anything. We just sit together and work on the course one module at a time. For us the key is that we do it together. He is capable of doing it on his own, but doing it together gives us an opportunity to talk about it. Because I know the tools a strategies he is learning, I can coach him to recall the tools when real life situations arise. We have been working through the course during small opportunities of time together. Like when we were on a road trip, while we wait for a sibling to do a sports practice, when we ate at home for the evening. One example of how the skills are helping him is concerning his tendency to have all of nothing thinking and his struggle with catastrophizing. In the workbook he worked through writing out his negative thoughts. The act of crumpling up the paper of negative self talk and throwing it away was very empowering for him. He has been able to use the reflection sections to really open up about his thoughts and feelings.

We are very grateful to have this resource to help him build skills that allow him to feel confident and to thrive. It is beautiful to experience this with him and watch him gain confidence and grow in self love and acceptance. We highly recommend this course.
